Walking the Wales Coast Path has certainly been a major project. And I have enjoyed doing the Coast to Coast and Hadrians Wall and most recently The Way of St James. But there are many other opportunities for wonderful walks in the UK.
On the day that I did the very first section of the Wales Coast Path I met Derek Shottin from the Chepstow Hill Walkers. They go out every Wednesday and are doing exactly the kind of walking I enjoy- about 10 miles at a reasonable pace in the hills of, often, The Brecon Beacons. But I have only managed to get out with them twice. And then I have a good friend Dave who I meet up with every couple of months and we walk then. And holidays with Anne usually comprise days where she sits and reads and I go out for a longish walk and then we go out to eat in the evening. This is a perfect arrangement for both of us. So I intend to occasionally post accounts of some of these other walks.
