Italian Wonder Ways

Italian Wonder Ways is the headline name for a group of tourist organisations and businesses whose aim is to promote tourism on the pilgrim paths of central Italy. Over two hundred hospitality, food and services (baggage transfer, bike rental, etc) have formed the Francesco Ways Consortium. Their target customers are not just pilgrims and religious tourists but anyone and everyone who enjoys walking and cycling in beautiful countryside and eating great food. There are five main routes: Cammino Francescano Della Marcia/Via Lauretana, Via Di Francesco, Via Amerina, Via Fracigena and Cammino di Denedetto. In September 2016 I was invited to take part in a Press Trip that was offering a weeks “taster” for one of these routes -The Via Francigena Del Nord between Lucca in Tuscany to Rome.
